Depending on your attendance history, this may be your first appointment. In either case, we want to make you feel at ease and assist you in understanding what may occur during your appointment because we are aware that going to the hospital may be a stressful event.

To provide patients with the best care possible, the department employs a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including administrators, nurses, doctors, clinical nurse specialists, in-house gynaecologist, and a paediatrician.

Your appointment letter and any medications you are currently using or taking should be brought with you. Please provide a copy of your repeat prescription if you are unable to bring all of your medication so that the doctors caring for you can ensure you receive the best treatment possible.

You must check in at the front desk when you arrive at the hospital. You can turn in your appointment letter at the front desk if you have it with you. You will be required to verify your HMO or Health Insurance Company as well as your contact information, including your address, phone number, and next of kin.

You might not see the consultant listed in your letter since the consultant is treating your work with a team of doctors and other medical specialists. The length of some appointments can vary; others might involve tests and investigations. Please give your appointment up to three hours.

We want you to take an active role in making decisions about your healthcare. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know since we will always have time to listen. It is a good idea to jot down a note of any questions you have for the doctor or nurse before your appointment so you can bring it with you. Any queries you may have about your care can be answered by the staff member who is taking care of you.

Questions you may want to ask include:

  • Are there any other treatments for my condition?
  • Are there any hazards or adverse effects associated with the drug or treatment?
  • Should I postpone my next appointment if my symptoms get better?
  • If my symptoms get worse, what should I do?
